The Urban Harvest Fest, held May 24–25, 2025, at the 4th District Container Village, brought together approximately 250 residents for a vibrant celebration of agriculture, wellness, literacy, and entrepreneurship. Local Black farmers sold fresh, affordable produce to promote food justice, while a featured herbalist led interactive tours educating attendees on plant-based healing. Members of the Black Librarians Collective provided cultural storytelling and book recommendations that enriched the event's intellectual and historical dimensions.
Over 20 Black-owned vendors offered handmade products such as candles, apparel, and custom footwear, while vegan chefs introduced festivalgoers to plant-based cuisine rooted in African and Caribbean traditions. Public agencies—including the Fire and Water Departments, Sheriff’s Office, and mental health organizations—provided onsite resources and support. Community feedback was overwhelmingly positive, reinforcing the Village’s role as a dynamic space for cultural pride, health education, and economic empowerment.
